Headmaster Dan Megill
started his martial arts training in the art of jujitsu and boxing under his
uncle, Master George Pollard at the age of eight. At the age of 12, Master Dan
Megill continued his boxing under Alex Morrison, a former Army WW2 champion. He
was also coached by one of the best high school wrestling coaches, Mike Woolly
and Don Shank and later by Bill Cann.
It was later that Master
Dan Megill formed his own boxing club in Tweed, Ontario. At that time, Master
Dan trained under Shihan Bob Walther. It was later that Master Dan Megill met
Soke Raymond Hayes. Master Dan Megill have had the opporutnity to met and study
with various of teachers such as Shihan Bob Walther, Shihan Monte Guest, Shihan
Ron Forrester, GrandMaster Thomas Mitose, Hanshi B.Juchnik, Shihan Honey, Shihan
Mike Klien, Shihan John McCullum, GrandMaster Remy Presas, Renshi Rick Buchan,
Shihan Mike Soke ,Kyoshi John Therien ,Hanshi Morris, and is still studying
under Hanshi Nimr Hassan, Last Physical Student of GreatGrandMaster James Mitose.
Master Dan Megill two
greatest teachers that he studied under are Soke Raymond Hayes, Founder SHIN
JITSU NO KEMPO, and Hanshi Nimr Hassan KOGA HA KOSHO SHOREI RYU. Both have
infinite patience and compassion. Soke Hayes has given Master Dan Megill
confidence in himself and an understanding of conceptual knowledge. Hanshi
Hassan is a man of great integrity and spirituality. Master Dan mentioned that
he will always do his best to honour my past and present teachers. Soke Hayes
and Hanshi Hassan have done Master Dan great honour in allowing him to study
with them and he count them as close personal friends, fellow warriors, priests
of peace.
